Yes it is. I’ve long envisioned taking a class into a 3D environment that has been set up as a medieval village, or manor, or monastery, or city, or church, or battle, or wherever our class needed to go that day. Students wouldn’t just hear about the middle ages (or any age), but they would experience something of the lives of people who lived during that time.

The American Red Cross is already running out of money, and needs donations badly. For our area along the Cedar and Iowa rivers in Iowa, the Grant Wood Area Red Cross website is very helpful. Donations can also be made at the National Red Cross website.
It’s ironic that the Federal Aid had to be attached to the bill to send more money to Iraq… You’d think it would be more important to save lives and property at home than to support a, um, WAR.

Some good news amidst all the disasters. This will be fun.
We ourselves didn’t get flooded as the Iowa River to the East and the Cedar River to the West both overflowed their banks by several feet. We did get cut off from the Quad Cities, where Marty has started up the New Gallery Framing shop with Dee, and from Muscatine to the South. We were still able to get to Iowa city and out on Interstate 80 going west.
